“Movement to energize your life.” That’s what we’re about at Move It Studio. Usually, this manifests in our creative approach to barre fitness or our various workshops. This spring, we’re partnering with Cobalt Dance Company to offer a unique dance class for those with Parkinson’s Disease and their partners. Local teachers trained with the founders of the program from Mark Morris Dance Group to offer an arts-based class for this specific population. As taken from the Dance for PD® website, “Dance for PD classes allow people with Parkinson’s to experience the joys and benefits of dance while creatively addressing symptom-specific concerns related to balance, cognition, motor skill, depression and physical confidence.” We are pleased to be able to donate our space to this worthy cause that offers classes free of charge to the local community. Classes run April 9 through May 21 and meet Saturdays at Move It Studio Lititz at 11:30 AM. Although the class is free of charge, we encourage online registration ahead of time. Studio Owner Marie helped to launch the Dance for Parkinson’s – Central PA program and even wrote a blog about the class published on WITF’s Transforming Health page here. We would love your help spreading the word!
