Movement Background: As a professionally trained ballet dancer, Marie has spent her whole life focusing on creative expression through movement. She believes that movement is the key to a fulfilling life and that there is a movement style for everyone. A commitment to movement and wellness led her to develop her own barre class, Move It Barre (formerly Ballet Fitt) in addition to pursuing certifications in Pilates through Balanced Body University®. Her dance training includes programs at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Ballet Chicago, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and American Ballet Theatre. In high school, she attended the year-round program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she was chosen by Melissa Hayden to dance in Balanchine’s Serenade with the Carolina Ballet. While dancing at Southold Dance Theater, guest artist Yves de Boutellier set an original work on the company featuring Marie after which she was invited to join Ballet Wisconsin. After high school, she was a member of the Southold Dance Theater Adult Ensemble which toured elementary schools. In college, she choreographed for and performed with the African American Dance Company at Indiana University as well as the Franklin and Marshall Dance Company and presented her choreographic work at the American College Dance Festival. Her performance credits locally include Grant Street Dance Company, Rev9 Dance Company, and Remote Dance Company.
Favorite Thing About Barre: I chose to develop my own barre style that integrates choreography stylistically and focuses on a neutral spine anatomically, because I wasn't able to find another barre method out there that offers these components. My favorite thing about Move It Barre is the creative energy behind each class.
How You Like to Move It: When I'm not moving it at the studio, I do my best to use the jogging stroller and run with my 3 year old and 7 month old. It's the best way for me to get in a workout without worrying about child care and they love it!
What Motivates You: I'm motivated by the smiles I see on each client's face and the sense of accomplishment I see them walk out of the studio with every day!
Movement Background: Growing up, I took ballet classes off and on from the age of a tiny tot to the end of high school. I stopped dancing when I went to college, and it wasn’t until mid-way through graduate school at the age of 28 when I realized that I needed dance in my life. I found a local dance studio and started taking as many dance and barre classes as I could, and developed a full-blown ballet/barre addiction. When I completed graduate school, I mounted a solo art exhibition that incorporated dance performances by myself, and a small local dance company. Dance has become part of my daily life, and a part of my art practice. I plan to continue exploring movement and dance for as long as I am physically capable.
Favorite Thing About Barre: My favorite thing about Move It Barre is how it changes my brain. Coming to the studio and focusing on my body and breath distances me from the stress of normal life. By the end of class, my stress has melted off and I feel amazing.
How You Like to Move It: I like to move it in ballet class! Most evenings if I am not at Move It Studio, I am in ballet class. Stretching is something that I try to do at home – it really helps me to relax and stay flexible. I also LOVE to take walks and go for hikes. My favorite place to go for a walk is Landis Woods.
What Motivates You: I am ultimately motivated by the desire to move. I need to feel my body move and be in the world- to experience the world through my body. I am also motivated by wonder and the magic of dance. I love to watch live dance performance and dance videos; seeing the beauty of dance motivates me to progress my dance abilities.
What Else People Should Know: Music is one of my favorite parts about dance and teaching at Move It Studio. I grew up in a family of classical musicians, and have a background as a classical violinist.
Movement Background: I started taking movement classes at Movement Laboratory at age 2. As I got older, I focused mostly on ballet and modern, but was lucky enough to be training at a studio that exposed its students to many different types of movement, including jazz, tap, hip-hop, yoga and Afro-Caribbean dance. I danced daily through high school and it was a huge part of my life. Once I got to college, I would take the occasional ballet class with my ballerina roommate, but eventually lost my connection to dance until I discovered Move It Studio in September 2015.
Favorite Thing About Barre: I can't pick just one thing! It's a great workout that doesn't feel like working out. I love feeling connected to my body and the music. I also love that there are zero expectations in class other than to get our bodies moving and to have fun. I'm so much stronger than I've ever been.
How You Like to Move It: Well, aside from my complete addiction to Move It Studio, most of my other exercise involves trying to wear out my two very energetic dogs. You'll find us walking around the neighborhood several times a day or out for long hikes on the weekends.
What Motivates You: I'm passionate about making my small corner of the world a better place. I want to make a positive impact on those around me, from my smallest actions to the bigger picture.
What Else People Should Know: I've been taking classes at Move It for a long time. I love that each teacher has her own style. It's been fun to start figuring out my style! My goal is to make everyone who comes to one of my classes feel as good walking out of the studio as I do every time I take class.
Movement Background: As a kid, I loved climbing trees and riding my bike. Organized sports and dance class made me too self-conscious to move. But I always loved to dance so it was no surprise in my 20's I loved the first dance exercise class I took. Taking class led to teaching classes, which led to being exposed to all types of fitness classes including Pilates and yoga. Now 30 years into teaching movement I still learn something new every day and see no end in sight.
Favorite Thing About Barre: The energy, the vibe, the people, the music. It encourages me to move parts that don't always get moved in other classes.
How You Like to Move It: Outside with my dogs, on my paddleboard across the water, dancing around my house to WXPN Funky Friday, within the tension and support of the springs on the Pilates equipment, and cueing with animated gestures while teaching.
What Motivates You: Creating an environment that allows people to explore movement and watching friendships emerge.
What Else People Should Know: I cry at commercials sometimes, I love to cook vegan and vegetarian food. I am a vintage junky.

Movement Background: At the age of 4, I started taking tap and ballet classes but quit once being moved up to an older class. By the time I was 9, I decided to take another shot at dance. I began with beginner jazz classes and was talked into restarting ballet by the studio owner. Although I was behind in ballet and in classes with younger girls, I worked hard to make my way up to dancing with girls my age. I ended up dancing as the Spanish Lead in The Nutcracker after years of dedication and countless hours of hard work. Ballet took a piece of my heart. Throughout college, I was a part of Penn State Ballet including performing, choreographing, and leadership roles. Once I started graduate school and my career, I was unable to find a way to incorporate ballet into my life. Since finding Move It Studio, I have once again found my home for ballet, dance, and fitness.
Favorite Thing About Barre: My favorite part of Move It Barre is the difference between each of the classes. Each teacher brings something different to the table and it is embraced at the studio so that each class is unique.
How You Like to Move It: As a physical therapist, I am constantly moving as a part of my job. When I'm not working or at Move It Studio, I love to take runs or walks around Lititz.
What Motivates You: Seeing people during the day who are physically unable to move reminds me of how lucky I am to be able to Move It.
What Else People Should Know: My goal during every Move It Barre class is to put a smile on everyone's face and to help you find your love and passion for movement.

What Else People Should Know: I’m excited to meet new people and be a part of the Move it Barre community!
Movement Background: I started my movement in the water through swim team and trips to the beach where I can never stay out of the ocean! I began dancing shortly after with ballet and a variety of dance for musical theater. In college, I was able to continue dancing just for fun. Move It Studio reignited my love for movement, dance, and fitness!
Favorite Thing About Barre: I love the variety!! From the music, to the exercises, it gives me a full body workout that always puts a smile on my face and keeps me coming back for more!

Movement Background: I have been moving since the age of 4 years old, when I first started dance classes at Voloshky School of Ukrainian Dance in Jenkintown, PA. My dance background was primarily Ukrainian folk dancing with some Classical ballet training until college, at which time I had the opportunity of traveling the country as a performer with the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, an Eastern European performing ensemble. After university, I joined a couple of different ethnic dance groups but unfortunately stopped moving for a little until I discovered Move It Studio in 2016.
Favorite Thing About Barre: I love the guaranteed release of endorphins after every class due to the eclectic music, awesome exercises, and fierce enthusiasm from the clients and the teachers.
How You Like to Move It: I love dancing in every way shape or form - in a studio, in my kitchen, at the club, and any spontaneous place you can imagine. I also love playing tennis with my dad, running with Girls on the Run, and what I like to call mall stomps (very fast walking to cover as much area of the mall or outlets as you can).
What Motivates You: Movement- an object in motion stays in motion, so that motivates me to keep moving!
What Else People Should Know: Clients should know that their smiles, energy, and effort during every class have the power to cure even the mean reds. And obviously that I love Audrey Hepburn, hence use of the term “mean reds.”
Movement Background: A homegrown Lancaster County dancer, Regina has been dancing since the age of two. She continued to pursue her passion throughout high school and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance from Adelphi University. After doing some freelance work in NYC, she moved back to Lancaster and teaches Modern and Jazz at Footprints Performing Arts. Regina joined the Move It Team originally working the front desk, but fell in love with Move It Barre so much that she had to become a teacher!
Favorite Thing About Barre: My favorite thing about barre is that choosing music that clients can sing along to as they sweat and move! There is nothing more fun than forgetting how much your arms and legs are burning because you are lost in the rhythm of the music. Choosing music with a strong beat and empowering words helps me to motivate clients to push themselves.
How You Like to Move It: Grocery aisles are a particularly fun place to dance, but I currently dance semi-professionally with Grant Street Dance Company, Barefoot Dance Company and NetCo Dance Company, as well as being a freelance choreographer in the area and my works have been performed at national dance competitions, Downtown Dances Lancaster and Warwick Senior High School! Besides dance, I like to move it in any way, in any place! I try to take Move It Barre from the other incredible teachers at least three times a week and I hike and swim regularly!
